A fundamental purpose of this website is to assist taxpayers in understanding the various functions of the PVA Office and the Kentucky Property Tax System. This site is an extension of our PVA Office, where we can allow you online access to generalized information, property records, and important forms.

The mission of the Jessamine County Property Valuation Administrator’s Office is to provide courteous, accurate and efficient services to the residents of Jessamine County and any other individual or entity needing our services. This office is bound by the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Constitution and Statutes and we make it our mission to serve you in a competent manner. We are dedicated in assisting you with accurate information and in providing fair and timely assessments of real property.


Jessamine County consists of 174 square miles of total land. Of this total, 173 square miles is land and only 1 square mile is water.

Jessamine County was formed on December 19, 1798.

At one time, Jessamine County was the southern most part of Fayette County.

Jessamine is the only county in KY with a feminine name.

The county seat, Nicholasville, was named for George Nicholas, who drew up the first KY Constitution.

High Bridge was opened in 1877, as the first cantilever bridge built on the American Continent.

Located on the Kentucky River in Jessamine County, The Valley View Ferry is the oldest continuous run business in the state.

Asbury University is named for Francis Asbury, the first Methodist Bishop in the US.

The first Nicholasville Courthouse was erected in 1823. Prior to that date, court was held in parlors, sheds, or stables.

In 1774, William Hickman hired Daniel Boone to survey 3,000 acres on a creek in Jessamine County that later became known as Hickman Creek.
